ModCell's Hayesfield 'Nucleus' building wins Green Energy Award

ModCell are delighted to announce that the Nucleus building at Hayesfield School, Bath, has won the South West Green Energy Award. It won in the 'Best Energy Efficiency' category - sponsored by the Low Carbon Exchange

'The Nucleus building at Hayesfield School is built from the ModCell prefabricated strawbale cladding system, which eliminated the need for a separate structural frame and reduced the onsite construction. Materials with low embodied carbon and a high recycled content were selected throughout, and all timber is FSC or equivalent. Local materials included straw bales (insulation for walls and roof) from a local farm to oak planks reclaimed from a nearby building for the external furniture'.

The Green Energy Awards where a night to remember as we celebrates the success of the south west renewable energy industry annually, at the Assembly Rooms, Bath on November 26.
